Jeff Quinn Rhoads

Funeral services for Jeff Quinn “Ranger” Rhoads, 45, Moore area resident will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Paul Bear Track.
A traditional wake service will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Rhoads died Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015 in the Southwest Integris Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born Oct. 20, 1969 to Murray Adrian and Patricia Ann Rhoads in Dallas, Texas.
He was known by many names. Spotted Bear was his Indian name given to him by his Cheyenne grandmother, Ranger, by his close friends and Cianan O’Domhnaill was his SCA name.
He was raised in the Dallas, Texas and Moore areas and he graduated from Moore High School before attending Rose State College in Oklahoma City.
He was active with a Medieval Reenactment Group called Society of Creative Anachronism (SCA) and was known by the name of “Cianan.” He often sewed and created his own clothes, cloaks and costumes and did for others as well.
Rhoads was well known throughout the United States and many foreign countries for his acting, singing and medieval participation.
He was recognized for a logo that he designed for the U.S. Marine Corps and was credited in their Marine Corps magazine.
He was baptized as a child into the Presbyterian faith and was a member of the Cheyenne Tribe.  He was active in the Native American Church.
Preceding him in death were his father; grandparents, Hollis and Elvina Battise, Harvey and Sophia Rhoads; step grandmother, Doris Battise; aunts, Norma Clark, Leatrice Poweshiek, Colleen Cometsevah, Gussie Nell Battise, Maud Estelle Battise, Marilyn Battise; uncles, Arleigh Rhoads, Harvey Rhoads, Jr., James Battise, Edward Louis Clark, Laird Cometsevah , Richard Poweshiek.
Survivors include his mother, Patricia; sisters, Adria Suina and her husband, Greg, Melanie Motah and her husband, Gaylon; brothers, Murray Rhoads, Jr. and his wife, Patty, Howard Battise; his uncles, Wayne Battise, and his wife, Mickey, grandmother, Doris Battise; 14 nieces and nephews; and 22 great nieces and nephews.
Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery.
