Rogelio Salazar Jr.

Funeral services for Rogelio Salazar Jr., 10, of Elk City, were scheduled for 2 p.m., today (Tuesday) at the First Baptist Church in Elk City, with. Pastor Josefath Sanchez officiating.

Salazar was born April 5, 2004 in Corpus Christi, Texas, the son of Rogelio Sr. and Josephine Marie (Martinez) Salazar.

He died Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center, Elk City, after a four-wheeler accident.

Salazar completed the fourth grade at Merritt Public Schools during the 2013-2014 school year.

Survivors include his parents, Rogelio Salazar Sr., of Elk City and Josephine Martinez Salazar of Fort Worth, Texas; paternal grandfather, Cornelio Salazar of Memphis, Texas; maternal grandparents, Jose Martinez of Corpus Christi, Texas and Kathy Gonzalez of Alamo, Texas; one brother, Adrain Salazar of Shamrock, Texas; three sisters, Itsel Salazar, Johana Salazar and Lorena Garcia, all of Fort Worth, Texas; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Esthela Salazar.

Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City, under the direction of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City.
