Thomas Rodes Pixton

Services will be held for Thomas Rhodes Pixton, 75, of Elk City at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Whinery Chapel in Elk City.
He died Tuesday, May 8, 2018, in Elk City.
Pixton was born Feb. 17, 1943, to Delores Evelyn (Dubois) and William Greer Pixton in Nashville, Tenn. He lived in the Methodist Boys’ Home from the age of 9 years old and graduated from high school in Ruston, La. 
He continued his education at Louisiana Tech, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He then obtained a law degree from Tulane University. Pixton practiced law in Louisiana before moving to Oklahoma, where he worked in the Beckham County district attorney’s office in the child support office. 
He opened his own law office in 1990 and continued there until forced to retire in 2017 due to his health. In all, Pixton practiced law more than 40 years. 
In the little spare time he had, he enjoyed fly fishing, collecting model trains and lighthouses, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Marie, of the home; four children, Thomas Pixton Jr. and wife Kimberly of Oklahoma City, Tonya Englund-Pixton and husband Mats of Stockholm, Sweden, Cheryl Mayfield of Elk City, and Cindy Mayfield and husband Robert of Elk City; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way; special nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The service will be officiated by Brad Cocheran. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery.
