Vergie Blankenship

Graveside funeral services were held Thursday for Vergie L. Blankenship, 83, of Ringwood. Interment was at Glenwood Cemetery, near Ringwood, under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home.

Mrs. Blankenship died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016, at the Noble Health Care Center.

She was born April 2, 1932, to Claud Stewart Barrick and Ida Florene (Burton) Barrick, in Arapaho. She grew up in Arapaho and attended school there, graduating in 1950. She married Willie B. Blankenship and they made their home in Clinton. For several years, Vergie and her husband owned and operated the “B & V” Thrift Store in Clinton. After Willie retired, they moved to Ringwood in the mid-1980s.  

Mrs. Blankenship is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and three sisters, Florene Carr, Irene Barrick and Jayne Barrick.

She is survived by a sister, Claudeen McLaughlin, Clinton; several close cousins, nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
