Remains found at Canton are alleged killer’s

Human remains found nearly two months ago in a field near Canton have been identified as those of a Guthrie man who was suspected of murdering an 18-year-old Oklahoma City-area woman last October.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said the remains are those of Christopher Blake Scruggs, 23. He was charged Feb. 1 this year with murdering Caylee Massey on Oct. 28, 2015, as they rode in a pickup near Canton. The killing allegedly took place after the pickup occupants smoked methamphetamine together in Oklahoma City and then made a meth delivery in Watonga.
Much of the information about Ms. Massey’s murder comes from an affidavit of probable cause written by former Weatherford police detective Todd Doyals, now an OSBI agent. The affidavit was filed with the murder charge against Scruggs.
