Recycling will be tried here on trial basis

Republic Services, a finalist in the City of Clinton’s flirtation with a citywide recycling program four years ago, plans to start a far smaller trial plan in early September at no cost to the city.
Unlike the plan proposed in 2012, this one will require participants to take their recyclables to the city’s trash disposal site at 101 Glenn Smith Rd., just south of Gary Boulevard.
As described by company representative Crystal Griffis at last week’s City Council meeting, a large roll-off dumpster like those used at construction sites will be partitioned with dividers and patrons will be expected to place their different items in the appropriate bins themselves.
There will be no cost either to the city or to individual utility customers.
