Mac looks tough despite losses

t’s not just coachspeak when Clinton High head coach Philip Koons talks about his team’s season opening opponent, Lawton MacArthur. Koons is sincere when he says the Highlanders may be just as good as last year’s state title team, despite the loss of 19 starters.
MacArthur returns two starters on defense and only one player, massive right tackle T.J. Fiailoa, a high level Division I recruit, on offense. After watching video of the Highlanders’ first two scrimmages, Koons sounded a cautionary note for anyone expecting a big dropoff in talent this season for Lawton Mac.
